DAY 1

08:30 Collect tour party at St George’s Hotel in Cape Town and proceed to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.

09:00 Enjoy a boat trip to Robben Island and thereafter a tour of the Island. For nearly 400 years, Robben Island, 12 kilometres from Cape Town was a place of banishment, exile, isolation and imprisonment. Robben Island became internationally known as a symbol of freedom and personal liberation after the release of Nelson Mandela. Tour this beautiful island, visit Mandela’s cell and share in this piece of South African History.

13:30 Enjoy lunch at the V & A Waterfront.

15:00 Spend the rest of the afternoon at the waterfront, browsing and shopping.

17:00 Return to St George’s Hotel in the city. Rest of the day at leisure. Evening dinner transfer available if required.

DAY 2

08:30 Collect tour party after breakfast at St George’s Hotel and proceed to Table Mountain. There is something very special about Table Mountain; it leaves a majestic and powerful impression on all that have visited the amazing city of Cape Town.

10:00 Board a cable car which revolves as it climbs and reach the summit within 6 minutes. From the top of the Mountain you are treated to panoramic views of Cape Town and Table Bay, an unforgettable view. Watch out for one of the many dassies that inhabit the mountain.

13:00 Lunch at the bistro on the mountain.

15:00 Take a scenic drive to a wine farm in Stellenbosch. Travel along vineyards and mountain passes until you reach the beautiful vineyards at Spier Wine Estate. Enjoy a wine tasting and purchase some of the wonderful local wines on offer.

18:00 Approximate arrival back at St George’s Hotel in the Mother City.

DAY 3

08:30 Collect tour party after breakfast and proceed to the Little Karoo/Garden Route via route 62. Route 62, also known as the Mountain Route, offers the visitor range upon range of striking mountain edifices. Thomas Bain was the engineer and constructor of several of the mountain passes on Route 62 - Tradouw Pass being one of them.

12:30 Enjoy lunch at the Dorpshuis in Calitzdorp

13:30 Visit Boplaas wine farm. This beautiful wine farm is the home of South Africa’s champion port. Enjoy tasting and browsing at this Karoo masterpiece.

15:00 We then travel over the beautiful Robinson Pass on our way to George/Wilderness area in the Garden Route. Sit back and enjoy the splendour of the mountains and the beautiful fynbos and proteas growing in abundance in this area.

17:30 Arrive at Mes Amis Guest House in Wilderness. Mes Amis is located right on the Wilderness Beach and offers an unsurpassed view of the Indian Ocean. Settle in and enjoy a sundowner on your private patio or take a stroll on the beautiful unspoilt beach. An evening dinner transfer is available if required.

DAY 4

08:30 Collect tour group At Mes Amis. Proceed to Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo via the magnificent Outeniqua Pass.

10:00 Visit Cango Wildlife Ranch.
Enter the Zimbakwe Temple ruins and tropical forest, home to giant flying foxes. View crocodiles under water in the valley of ancients. Enjoy the leaping lemurs, red river hogs and pigmy hippos. Proceed to the catwalk and get close to jaguar, cheetah, lion and enjoy the interactive White Tiger Presentation. Feed lorikeets in Kuranda Forest and interact with wallabies in the Wallaby Walkabout.

12:00 Visit Cango Ostrich Farm.
A Klein Karoo experience. Enjoy a guided tour and even have the experience of riding an ostrich! Visit the fascinating curio shop.

13:30 Visit Wilgewandel. Enjoy a traditional South African Lunch at De Kombuys De Cango. Relax and sip a glass of local wine whilst watching the geese and ducks on the dam during lunch. Perhaps ride a camel if you wish.

15:00 Visit Cango Caves.
A guided tour of this magnificent natural phenomenon. Ecologically significant and impressively beautiful, the Cango Caves are the largest show caves in Africa and one of the Seven wonders of Southern Africa. Browse in the interesting curio shop.

16:30 Drive through the beautiful Klein Karoo back to Mes Amis. Arrival time +/- 18:00. Enjoy a light supper on your patio whilst watching the sunset over the ocean. Or go out for dinner at one of the lovely restaurants in the village.

DAY 5

08:30 Collect tour group after breakfast and proceed to the Outeniqua Transport Museum. Go back in time whilst viewing the vintage railway coaches, vintage cars and other transport-related items on display.

10:00 Board the famous Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe and enjoy a unique, picturesque and scenic 52 kilometer journey by steam train. Enjoy bridge crossings, farmlands with the Outeniqua Mountains in the background and the amazing vista over Glentana and the Indian Ocean. Travel through a tunnel and out again to a sweeping view all the way across Mossel Bay to the Cape St Blaize Lighthouse.

12:00 Collect tour group in Mossel Bay.

12:15 Visit Bartolomeu Dias Museum. (Discoverer of Mossel Bay).
A fascinating journey through a colourful past. Begin at the historical Post Office Tree and then visit the Shell Museum, Aquarium, the Granary and Maritime Museum - where you can board a replica of the ship (Caravel) which Dias sailed into Mossel Bay in 1488. Experience the Braille Trail as well as the historic Malay Graves.

13:30 Enjoy lunch at Delfino’s overlooking the ocean. Look out for dolphins or whales while enjoying lunch.

15:00 Enjoy a boat trip to Seal Island. Enjoy the abundant birdlife whilst cruising to this famous island inhabited by hundreds of seals.

16:00 View the sights of Mossel Bay.

16:30 Drive back to George along the scenic sea route.

17:30 Arrive back at Mes Amis. Take a stroll along the beach or have a swim in the sheltered pool. Enjoy sundowners on your private patio and just enjoy the splendour of the sunset over the ocean.

DAY 6

08:30 Collect tour party after breakfast at Mes Amis and proceed along the scenic route through the beautiful Lake District and catch a glimpse of the ocean as the road winds along the forests and lakes.

09:30 Visit Buffels Bay en route. This majestic village has rocky shores and beautiful beaches and is home to the Goukamma National Park.

10:00 Enjoy morning tea at the quaint Goukamma Station.

11:30 Visit Leisure Isle.

13:00 Lunch at the Knysna Waterfront. Browsing and shopping.

14:30 Boat ride to the Knysna Heads.
“Cruise the world famous Knysna Heads for a spectacular view of the estuary flowing into the ocean”.

16:30 Scenic drive by road from Knysna back to Wilderness.

17:30 Arrive back at Mes Amis. Relax on your private patio or take a stroll along the beach. Evening dinner transfer available if required.

DAY 7

08:30 Collect tour party after breakfast at Mes Amis and proceed along the scenic route through the beautiful Lake District and catch a glimpse of the ocean as the road winds along the forests and lakes.

Continue along the scenic routes passing magnificent forests and Bloukrans, the highest bungy jumping site in the world.

13:00 Visit Tsitsikamma National Park. Lunch at the Restaurant.
Known as a little piece of Eden - This National Park has the most beautiful coast line, wild and rugged. This protected park is the home of the famous Otter Trail. This visit is a must. Do the boardwalk to the hanging bridge if you feel like a fairly strenuous walk. A boat ride along the river mouth is an optional extra.

16:00 Proceed along the scenic route to Port Elizabeth.

18:00 Arrival in Port Elizabeth. Book into the beachfront City Lodge for your last evening of the tour. Visit the Casino or just enjoy a leisurely dinner at the hotel. Next morning, flight to Johannesburg/Cape Town.
